Make plans on good maps
For people who like to make their own plans in the great outdoors.
SimonLikesMaps provides useful tools not found on other apps to plan your own routes off the beaten track. Here's a screenshot of it action. It shows the Satellite Spy tool, the OpenStreetMap footpaths overlay and a good topo map underneath it all.
History
Simon Likes Maps was created by someone really called Simon who really does like maps.
I wanted a simple way to draw a line on a good map that has contour detail and send it to friends as a suggestion for a walk, run, bike ride, ski tour or anything outdoors.
The first version started in November 2013 sharing mountain bike routes in Wharncliffe Woods near Sheffield, UK. I'm still working on it today because no other app has the same useful tools for planning routes off the beaten track.
